Yoga

To me, the definition of yoga went quickly from a bunch of challenging poses done while sweating to being a way of living. It has taught me so much - physically, mentally, and spiritually - and opened me up to so many possibilities in life that, in fact, I can state it has changed my life in a very positive way.

My yoga quest started with me seeking a way to replace my beloved sun and warm beach, which are rare in Washington, where I had moved to. To my surprise, after just a few months doing yoga, I found my sun through the heat (internally built or in a heated room) and my waves' relaxation with savasana. However, it did not stop there, I got way more out of it! I got a sense of fulfillment, self-esteem, confidence, joy and so much more, I simply cannot live without it anymore. After noticing this, strongly inside me grew the willingness to help family, friends and even strangers to experience that, too. And that is why I searched for Yoga Teacher Certification.

I completed the 200hr certification program in 2012  through Shakti Vinyasa, and have been teaching since then. I have been practicing since 2003, and have learned a lot from different teachers and also under the mentorship of Lisa Black. In my classes, it is my intention to bring students in touch with their inner peace through sequences of challenging poses followed by breathing  and relaxation techniques.

Teaching Kids - How cool would it be if you had learned to deal with your feelings and/or learned to release tension when you were still a kid? Wouldn't that make your life so much easier? - Those were my thoughts before I decided to learn how to share yoga with kids, getting certified to teach kids in 2011.

It is a joy to teach yoga to kids! They are very open to try new things and love to reconnect with the art of "just being". In my Kids yoga classes, every child has the right to actively participate, experiencing leadership, gaining self-esteem, developing better focus and listening skills, learning coping techniques, and more. Instead of following sequences of poses, we flow through class letting our imagination skills turn into physical postures. Every class is composed by breathing techniques, individual, partner and group poses, games in yogic version, and time for relaxation.

Classes are being offered online; they could be private or group classes for ages 8+, with the option of having a caregiver take the class with the child.
